What is the EFI System Partition?
The EFI System Partition (ESP) is a small FAT32 partition on UEFI computers that stores bootloader files for the systems installed on the disk.
Why it matters when you use a bootable USB drive
When you install Linux next to Windows, the installer usually reuses the existing ESP. Deleting it by mistake can stop every system on that disk from starting.
