What is a window manager?
A window manager draws and controls the windows on your screen, including their borders, movement and layout. A full desktop environment adds a panel, settings and apps on top.
Why it matters when you use a bootable USB drive
Light systems often use a window manager alone, such as Openbox or IceWM, which saves memory on older computers.
